Abstract

The article focuses on reviving interest in the long-overlooked 19th-century composer Anthony Philip Heinrich, often called the "Beethoven of Kentucky." It explores how his unconventional style, inspired by the American landscape and freedom from European academic traditions, anticipated later musical innovations through experimental harmonies, folkloric elements, and tone poems that reflected both his immigrant experience and his vision of America's vastness and vitality.
