Abstract
The article focuses on the Nepalese grindcore band Chepang, which emerged from New York and describes their evolution and philosophical approach to music. Initially not intending to play grindcore, the band found their sound through a blend of influences, leading to the release of their complex double album "Swatta" in 2023, followed by a more straightforward album titled "Jhyappa." The latter reflects themes of self-immolation and personal authenticity, influenced by the band's cultural background and the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on their community. The band members express a heightened sense of spiritual awareness stemming from their experiences during this challenging time. [Extracted from the article]
