Abstract
This article focuses on Glynis Johns, a South African-born actress known for her versatile career in stage, film, and television. She made her London stage debut at age 12 and is notably remembered for her roles as Mrs. Banks in the 1964 Disney film *Mary Poppins* and for introducing the song "Send In the Clowns" in the 1973 musical *A Little Night Music*. Despite not considering herself a singer, composer Stephen Sondheim adapted the song to suit her vocal range. Johns also appeared in television series such as *Batman* and *Cheers*, showcasing her talent in light comedy throughout her life.
