Abstract

This article provides an overview of Queen's album "The Works" and the challenges the band encountered during its release. The album showcased a blend of rock, pop, and ballad tracks and achieved success in the UK, but faced difficulties in the US. The band's interactions with American radio and their controversial music videos, notably "I Want To Break Free," added to the complications. The article also touches on Queen's controversial choice to perform in South Africa during the apartheid era and their participation in the Live Aid concert. Despite internal conflicts, Queen delivered a remarkable performance at Live Aid and continued to create music. [Extracted from the article]
