Abstract
The article focuses on the Fender Jazzmaster electric guitar, which was introduced in 1958 as an attempt to attract jazz musicians, although it ultimately gained popularity among surf rock and later punk and alternative genres. Despite its higher retail price compared to other models, the Jazzmaster's unique design features, such as its distinct pickups and floating tremolo system, contributed to its enduring appeal. Initially met with lukewarm reception from jazz players, the Jazzmaster found favor with various artists across multiple genres, including surf rock bands in the 1960s and punk musicians in the 1970s. The model has remained a staple in Fender's lineup, with production resuming in the U.S. in 1999 after a revival in Japan in the mid-1980s. [Extracted from the article]
