Abstract
The article focuses on the unexpected creation and recording of Radiohead's hit song "Creep," produced by Sean Slade and Paul Kolderie. Initially hired to work on two lesser songs, the producers discovered "Creep" during a rehearsal and captured its basic track in a single take at Chipping Norton Studios in England. The recording emphasized a live, rehearsal-like atmosphere with distinct guitar roles among band members, and the final mix included only three overdubs. Unique studio features, such as dynamic ceiling microphones, contributed to the song's distinctive sound, and a spontaneous decision to add piano near the mix's end enhanced the track's impact.
