Abstract

The article focuses on the discovery and significance of a valuable collection of Franz Liszt materials associated with his pupil August Stradal, housed in the Rumburk Museum in the Czech Republic. Stradal, a notable pianist, arranger, and Liszt's trusted student, amassed numerous annotated scores and manuscripts, including Liszt's personal corrections and revisions, which had remained largely uncatalogued until recently. The collection also contains Stradal's own unpublished works and a substantial manuscript on Liszt's compositions, partly prepared for publication by Stradal's wife, Hildegard. This archive offers important insights into Liszt's teaching and creative legacy, representing a significant resource for music scholarship and performance.
