Abstract
The article focuses on the creation of John Kruth's musical project, Folklorkestra, and their album "A Strange Day in June." Following the disbandment of his previous group, TriBeCaStan, Kruth received a grant from Chamber Music of America, which enabled him to assemble a diverse ensemble of musicians to explore genre-bending music. The recording process involved live sessions at Park West Studios in Brooklyn, where Kruth utilized various instruments and collaborated closely with engineer Jim Clouse to capture the unique sound of the ensemble. The album features a mix of improvisation and structured compositions, reflecting Kruth's artistic journey during a challenging personal health crisis. [Extracted from the article]
