Abstract
This article from Jazzwise Magazine provides instrument news and reviews for professional and serious amateur musicians. The focus of the review is on seamless snare drums, which have been a popular choice for live and studio recording. The Italian company DS Drum has developed a unique manufacturing process that improves the shell's structural integrity and strength. The review specifically examines the Copper shell version of the drum, highlighting its exceptional build quality and ability to produce a warm, dry response with plenty of attack. The article also mentions a new woodwind reed guard from Key Leaves that is lightweight, easy to clean, and designed to hold four reeds securely. Lastly, the article discusses the Solos Omnibooks by Hal Leonard, which contain transcriptions of Cannonball Adderley's solos. While the transcriptions are well done, it is noted that they are in the key of Bb instead of the original key of Eb, which may not accurately reflect the nuances of the original performances.
