Abstract

This article presents a scoping review of telenursing interventions for patients with cancer receiving chemotherapy, focusing on the types of interventions, primary clinical outcomes, and tools used. Eleven studies involving 2,189 outpatients or homecare patients with various cancers were analyzed, revealing that telenursing primarily supports symptom monitoring—especially fatigue, anxiety, and depression—through electronic platforms enabling patient-reported outcomes and remote nurse-led management. The review highlights improvements in symptom control, quality of life, self-efficacy, and reduced healthcare utilization, while noting heterogeneity in study designs and measurement tools. It emphasizes the potential of tailored, nurse-led telenursing interventions to enhance patient care, particularly for those with limited access to in-person services, and calls for further large-scale, rigorous research to establish efficacy and best practices.
