Abstract
The article focuses on the recent activities and developments of the Perioperative Nurses College (PNC) of New Zealand, highlighting its leadership, workforce development, and international networking efforts. With the easing of COVID-19 restrictions, PNC has strengthened connections with global organizations such as the Association of Operating Room Nurses (AORN), the European Operating Room Nurses Association (EORNA), and the International Federation of Perioperative Nurses (IFPN), advancing initiatives like an online learning platform for perioperative nurses in New Zealand. The article also notes the upcoming 48th national conference in Wellington, emphasizing education and research in perioperative nursing, and discusses PNC's ongoing work on a position statement defining the role of the perioperative nurse, developed in collaboration with NZNO and IFPN. Additionally, it pays tribute to Kathryn Fraser, a former PNC member and contributor to perioperative nursing in New Zealand.
