Abstract
The article focuses on the impact of the physical environment in nursing homes on the psychological adaptation and well-being of healthcare providers, drawing on findings from a study in Palestine. It emphasizes that thoughtfully designed spaces—such as well-lit hallways, calming colors, and access to natural light—play a crucial role in supporting caregivers’ mental health and resilience. The discussion highlights parallels in the Philippine context, where healthcare workers often face challenging conditions, and underscores the global importance of investing in humane healthcare environments, especially in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. Improving these environments is presented as an ethical commitment that benefits both caregivers and the broader caregiving culture, including those who work internationally.
