Abstract
This article focuses on the use of social media, specifically Facebook, for sentiment analysis and competitive intelligence within the United Kingdom's pizza industry. It analyzes customer emotions and feedback from Facebook data collected in 2018 for five major UK pizza chains: Papa John's, Prezzo, Pizza Express, Pizza Hut, and Domino's. The study finds that positive customer comments dominate but neutral comments are the most frequent across all brands, with Pizza Express receiving the highest proportion of positive feedback. The research highlights the importance of social media sentiment analysis in shaping marketing strategies and enhancing customer engagement to improve business performance in competitive markets.
