Abstract

The article focuses on a study investigating the psychological factors influencing consumer behavior toward cultured meat in Italy. Conducted by researchers from the University of Teramo, the study highlights how anticipated social identification and openness to other cultures positively affect individuals' willingness to try, consume regularly, and substitute conventional meat with cultured meat. In contrast, locavorism does not significantly impact these behavioral intentions. The research, supported by the European Union and the Italian Ministry of University and Research, aims to inform strategies for promoting alternative proteins, particularly in contexts where food identity is significant.
