Abstract

This article focuses on the current scientific evidence regarding dietary patterns and their potential role in managing endometriosis, a chronic gynecological disorder affecting millions of women worldwide. It reviews various diets—including the Mediterranean diet, anti-inflammatory diet, vegetarian diet, low-FODMAP diet, and Western-style diet—and their associations with endometriosis symptoms and risk. Findings suggest that diets rich in fruits, vegetables, omega-3 fatty acids, and antioxidants, such as the Mediterranean and anti-inflammatory diets, may alleviate symptoms, while Western-style diets high in processed foods and red meat could exacerbate the condition. The article also explores emerging areas like gut microbiota modulation and artificial intelligence as future directions for personalized dietary management, emphasizing the need for more rigorous clinical trials to establish definitive dietary recommendations.
