Abstract

This study examined the relationships among sustainable and healthy eating behaviors (SHEB), organic food consumption (OFC), eco-anxiety (EA), and ecological footprint awareness (ASREF) in a sample of 301 Turkish adults. Results showed that higher organic food consumption and greater ecological footprint awareness were moderately and positively correlated with sustainable and healthy eating behaviors, and both significantly predicted engagement in these behaviors. Eco-anxiety demonstrated only weak correlations with certain aspects of sustainable eating, such as meat reduction and local food preference, and was not a significant predictor of overall sustainable eating or ecological awareness. These findings highlight the potential role of promoting organic food consumption and ecological footprint awareness in public health strategies aimed at fostering sustainable dietary practices and environmental responsibility.
