Abstract
The article presents a case study of a 20-month-old male diagnosed with bronchopneumonia and severe hypokalemia, ultimately identified as having distal renal tubular acidosis (dRTA) caused by ATP6V0A4 gene mutations. Topics discussed include the diagnostic process for metabolic acidosis and electrolyte imbalances, the role of genetic testing in confirming hereditary dRTA, and treatment outcomes following potassium citrate therapy.
