Abstract
The article examines the pervasive nature of plastics in the economy and the challenges of managing plastic waste effectively. Topics include the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) proposed circular economy for recycling plastics, the complexities of breaking down plastic into hazardous micro- and nanoparticles, and the difficulties in regulating the vast array of plastic-related chemicals due to their widespread use and the reliance on fossil fuels in their production.
