Abstract
The article focuses on several clinical studies conducted at Ain Shams University related to musculoskeletal and rheumatologic conditions. One study retrospectively analyzed 219 patients undergoing cardiac MRI, finding that 26% had extracardiac findings, emphasizing the importance of comprehensive thoracic and abdominal assessment during cardiac MRI interpretation. Another study assessed inflammation of the infrapatellar fat pad in knee osteoarthritis patients using musculoskeletal Doppler ultrasound, demonstrating that ultrasound-guided corticosteroid injections improved clinical outcomes compared to conventional therapy. Additionally, the Methotrexate Intolerance Severity Score (MISS) questionnaire was validated among Egyptian rheumatoid arthritis patients, showing good reliability and identifying a high prevalence of methotrexate intolerance, particularly behavioral intolerance. These findings highlight the role of imaging and patient-reported tools in diagnosis and management of rheumatologic and cardiac conditions.
