Abstract
This article examines differences in post-concussion symptom reporting among athletes in basketball, cheerleading, soccer, and volleyball. Controlling for demographic and clinical factors, significant variations were found in symptoms related to balance problems, trouble falling asleep, and sleeping less than usual. Volleyball players reported more balance problems than basketball players, while cheerleaders reported greater difficulties with sleep compared to athletes in other sports. The findings suggest that concussion symptoms differ by sport, likely due to variations in physical demands and protective equipment, highlighting the importance of sport-specific concussion management strategies.
