Abstract
Mathematicians have recently achieved a breakthrough in unifying the laws of physics governing the motions of particles at different scales, a challenge first posed in 1900 by David Hilbert. This achievement could deepen our understanding of fluid behavior in the atmosphere and oceans. By connecting physical laws at microscopic, mesoscopic, and macroscopic scales, researchers have made significant progress in addressing Hilbert's sixth problem, which aims to derive laws dictating fluid behavior from basic mathematical axioms. The team's work, which has been ongoing for over half a decade, has provided valuable insights into the behavior of fluids and gases, reaffirming the way physicists have approached these phenomena for over a century.
