Abstract
Physicists at the University of Cambridge have achieved a temperature beyond absolute zero by manipulating the energy levels and quantum states of thousands of potassium atoms. This temperature, which is hotter than any positive temperature, could represent a new quantum state of matter. The researchers were able to arrange the atoms into a pattern called the Kagome lattice, where the atoms have no kinetic energy but interact with each other to obtain all of their energy. The properties and behavior of this new quantum substance are still unknown, but it could potentially exhibit exotic and rich quantum behaviors. [Extracted from the article]
