Abstract

The article focuses on a study that evaluates the causal associations between various sleep disorders and stroke risk, utilizing both observational analyses and Mendelian randomization approaches. Conducted in Suining, People's Republic of China, the research analyzed data from 7,264 participants, identifying significant associations between sleep apnea and nonorganic sleep disorders with increased stroke risk, while sleepwalking appeared to have a protective effect. The study concluded that certain sleep disorder subtypes may contribute to stroke risk, highlighting the importance of understanding these relationships for health and prevention strategies. The research was financially supported by the Sichuan Medical Science and Technology Innovation Research Association and has been peer-reviewed. [Extracted from the article]
