Abstract
The article focuses on Gillinder Glass, a New York-based manufacturer selected to produce the 2,688 crystal glass tiles for the New Year's Eve Ball at One Times Square. Each triangular glass piece features three distinct designs and an etched One Times Square logo, created from drawings provided by the building owners, Jamestown. The article also outlines the history of the Times Square Ball, noting its evolution from a 700-pound iron and wood ball in 1907 to the current design incorporating LED lighting and advanced materials. Gillinder Glass was approached in early 2024 to contribute to the 2025 ball drop, highlighting the company's role in continuing this longstanding New York City tradition.
