Abstract

India has warned Pakistan against further escalation, stating that any such attempts will be met with an appropriate response. Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri emphasized that the original escalation came from Pakistan, following a terror attack in Pahalgam. India refuted claims of targeting civilian infrastructure in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir and highlighted Pakistan's pressure to remove references to The Resistance Front (TRF) in a UN Security Council statement. The TRF, linked to the UN-proscribed terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba, has been identified as a cover for Pakistan-based terrorist activities. Pakistan's role as a hub for global terrorism was also underscored by Misri, citing instances of sheltering proscribed terrorists and recent admissions by Pakistani officials.
