Abstract
The article focuses on Peter Magyar's call for a swift transition of power in Hungary following the landslide election defeat of Prime Minister Viktor Orban's party. Magyar urged President Tamas Sulyok to convene the next legislature promptly after certifying the election results and to appoint him, as leader of the Tisza party which won a parliamentary supermajority, to form the new government. Magyar emphasized that the Hungarian electorate supported not only a change in government but a complete systemic transformation after Orban's 16 years of illiberal rule. [Extracted from the article]
