Abstract

Voting has concluded in Indonesia's election, which will determine the successor to outgoing President Joko Widodo. The election also includes the selection of lawmakers for local and national legislatures. The three presidential candidates are Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto, former regional governors Ganjar Pranowo and Anies Baswedan. If no candidate receives 50% of the vote, a runoff election will be held in June. Unofficial quick counts by private pollsters will be available shortly after voting closes, while official results will take several weeks. The new president will inherit a $1 trillion economy and will need to address issues such as job creation, supply chain disruptions, and the transition to green energy. [Extracted from the article]
