Abstract

The article focuses on President Donald Trump's immediate policy actions upon beginning his second term, aimed at restricting unauthorized border crossings and increasing deportations. These measures include declaring a national emergency at the southern border to allocate military funds for wall construction, suspending asylum claims for certain migrants, redefining birthright citizenship, and designating cartels as foreign terrorist organizations. Trump also ordered the U.S. Northern Command to seal the borders and sought to reinstate the "Remain in Mexico" policy for asylum seekers. Many of these actions are expected to face legal challenges, as similar efforts during his first term were blocked by courts.
