Abstract

The article focuses on a cyberattack campaign by BlueNoroff, a financially motivated unit of North Korea's Lazarus Group, targeting senior executives in cryptocurrency and blockchain sectors through fake Zoom or Teams calls. The attackers used typo-squatted meeting links and conducted deep reconnaissance to create credible social engineering attacks aimed at accessing private keys, wallet infrastructure, and exchange administration panels. Over five months starting in late 2025, more than 80 fake domains were registered, and stolen video footage was combined with AI-generated images to enhance deception. Researchers from Arctic Wolf, Huntress, and Kaspersky note this campaign represents a significant escalation in BlueNoroff’s capabilities and attack volume. [Extracted from the article]
