Abstract

This article, published in the American Surgeon journal, examines pediatric injuries sustained on the United States-Mexico border fence in El Paso. The study analyzed falls sustained by pediatric patients while crossing the border wall. The data showed that between 2015 and 2022, 48 pediatric patients received treatment for injuries sustained while crossing the border wall. Most patients were injured after falling from a height between 1 and 6 meters, and orthopedic injuries were the most common. The study highlights the need for further investigation into pediatric trauma suffered while crossing the border wall. [Extracted from the article]
