Abstract
The article considers the Second World War years as a time when British Conservatives experimented with radical ideas including the utopian idea of a world government alongside support for European political integration and revival of the League of Nations. It discusses the quest of the Federal Union, the primary supranationalist organization in Great Britain, to create a global federation as a solution to maintain national sovereignty, restore the economy and preserve Europe and the world.
