Abstract

Usha Chilukuri Vance, a 38-year-old Indian-American lawyer with roots in Andhra Pradesh, is set to become the first Indian-origin 'Second Lady' of the United States as the wife of Ohio Senator J.D. Vance. Her family's village in West Godavari district celebrated her upcoming role after the victory of the Republican ticket in the US Presidential elections. Usha, who holds degrees from Yale University and the University of Cambridge, has worked as a corporate lawyer and litigator, and played a key role in her husband's political campaigns.
