Abstract
Despite the canceled visit to Amman, President Biden should keep King Abdullah front and center in any efforts to ease humanitarian conditions in Gaza. King Abdullah II traveled to Egypt on October 19, where he joined President Abdul Fattah al-Sisi in calling for an immediate ceasefire and increased efforts to protect civilians and provide humanitarian assistance to Gaza. The king is facing challenges in managing a population that is increasingly vocal against the Gaza war, but he should remain a central part of regional diplomacy and aid efforts. Jordan plays a vital role in the Middle East for the United States, and maintaining a strong relationship with the kingdom is important. [Extracted from the article]
