Abstract
Vincent Pouliot and Jean-Philippe Thérien argue that policy-making is inherently political and has normative implications. They analyze value debates at the United Nations (UN) as a key site of global governance, focusing on the fields of development, human rights, and security. The authors propose a "patchwork" perspective on global governance, emphasizing the role of practices in shaping global policies. They critique other approaches to global governance and highlight the importance of values and contestation in the policymaking process. This book offers a valuable contribution to the study of global climate governance and is recommended for researchers in this field. [Extracted from the article]
