Abstract

The article examines philosopher Walter Benjamin's engagement with artist Paul Klee's image "Angelus Novus" as a site of political and aesthetic resistance to state instrumentalization, drawing on Eduardo Cadava and Sara Nadal-Melsió's book "Politically Red." Topics include the critique of institutional violence, the role of art in revolutionary thought, Benjamin's conceptualization of history and anarchy, and the political significance of Angelus' material and symbolic dimensions.
