Abstract
The Department of Homeland Security's Federal Emergency Management Agency is accepting applications for the FY24 Flood Mitigation Assistance Swift Current program. The program aims to reduce or eliminate the risk of repetitive flood damage to buildings and structures insured under the National Flood Insurance Program. The deadline for applications is January 15, 2026, and a total of $300 million in funds is available. Eligible applicants include states, the District of Columbia, U.S. territories, and Native American tribal governments. The funding supports project scoping for individual mitigation projects and properties that have experienced repetitive flood damage or substantial damage after a disaster declaration.
