Abstract

Former President Donald Trump will meet with Senate Republicans to discuss priorities for a potential second term. Senator John Barrasso of Wyoming invited Trump to speak to GOP senators, stating that it would be helpful to hear directly from him about his plans for the summer and to share ideas for a strategic governing agenda in 2025. This meeting comes as Trump is vetting possible running mates, including some senators. The meeting with lawmakers will take place before Trump attends an event with chief executive officers hosted by the Business Roundtable in Washington. Senate Republicans hope to win a majority in November to advance Trump's legislative priorities if he wins a second term. [Extracted from the article]
