Abstract

The Department of Housing and Urban Development is accepting applications for the Family Unification Program, which aims to partner with public child welfare agencies to provide Housing Choice Voucher assistance. The program has a deadline of October 30, 2024, and offers a total of $5 million in funds, with up to 10 awards of up to $1.7 million each. Eligible applicants are public housing authorities. The funding is intended to support two groups: families whose lack of adequate housing is a primary factor in the imminent placement or delay in the discharge of their children from out-of-home care, and youth aged 18 to 24 who have left or will leave foster care and are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless.
