Abstract

The article discusses the amendment to constitutional right to abortion passed by France's Parliament in March 2024 following the U.S. Supreme Court's 2022 decision in Dobbs v. Jackson to overturn the right to abortion set out in Roe v. Wade in 1973. Topics include the call by feminist groups for French President Emmanuel Macron to recognize sexual and reproductive rights including abortion in the French Constitution and issues with access to abortion and reproductive healthcare in the country.
