Abstract

Exxon Mobil CEO Darren Woods stated that the company is focused on efficiently producing oil in Guyana to assist the country in its border dispute with Venezuela. The dispute between Guyana and Venezuela over their boundary has been ongoing since the late 1800s. The discovery of oil off Guyana's coast in 2015 has intensified the dispute. Exxon is not financially assisting Guyana's government in the dispute, but rather limiting its role to responsibly developing resources. [Extracted from the article]
