Abstract
The Justice Department's Community Oriented Policing Services is accepting applications for the Safer Outcomes: Enhancing De‐Escalation and Crisis Response Training for Law Enforcement program. The program aims to promote safe outcomes during police encounters with individuals in crisis through relevant training. The deadline for applications is July 23, 2024, and a total of $7 million is available for up to 60 awards of up to $350,000 each. Eligible applicants include state, local, territorial, and Native American tribal law enforcement agencies. The funding supports the implementation of training and related services for law enforcement officers, support personnel, and mental health professionals working on crisis intervention teams.
