Abstract
Brian Mulroney, the former Canadian prime minister who led Canada into agreements with the US, has passed away at the age of 84. Mulroney's leadership from 1984 to 1993 improved the relationship between Canada and the US, resulting in the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) and other environmental treaties. While NAFTA became important for Canada's economy, it was viewed by some Canadians as a loss of sovereignty. Mulroney's domestic record was more turbulent, with unpopular policies and failed attempts to renew Canada's constitution. Despite his achievements, Mulroney's legacy was tarnished by allegations of wrongdoing. [Extracted from the article]
