Abstract
Julian Assange, the founder of Wikileaks, has been released after pleading guilty to leaking US national security secrets. After spending time in UK jails and self-imposed exile in a London embassy, Assange left a courtroom in Saipan in the US Northern Mariana Islands. He received a 62-month time-served sentence and will now return to his home country of Australia. The plea deal allows Assange to avoid a lengthy prison sentence, but Wikileaks is raising funds to cover the additional half a million US dollars he must pay. [Extracted from the article]
