Student pharmacists help lead efforts to curb overdoses.

Abstract

The article reports on the 3-year pilot project launched by Binghamton's School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences clinical assistant professor Bennett Doughty to train students on how to detect signs of opioid overdoses and how to use naloxone as a remedy. Also cited are the surge in drug use and death rates among adolescents in the U.S. and The Rural and Underserved Service Track (TRUST) program as one of the projects to address overdoses.
