Abstract
The article focuses on how the public park known as Beacon Hill Park was imposed on míqən, a central site of food cultivation and trade for the lək̓ʷəŋən Peoples. Topics include the significance of camus cultivation and Indigenous land stewardship, the colonial processes and treaty interpretations that enabled dispossession, and the transformation of cultivated Indigenous lands into a settler-defined public park that restricted traditional land us.
