Abstract
This book represents an archive based, original, and in-depth study or biography of the Williamstown Institute of Politics (IOP) and its inspiration Harry Garfield, son of the assassinated U.S. President James A. Garfield. In the end it seems that Garfield had ridden a great wave in U.S. elite politics but had created a personal vehicle that enabled him to reach national and international prominence. Yet, Garfield is noted as especially interested in close Anglo-U.S.-German relations as a civilizing force in world politics. [Extracted from the article]
