Abstract

The article focuses on the secretive status and potential succession of North Korean Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un's teenage daughter, reportedly named Kim Ju Ae. South Korea's National Intelligence Service (NIS) has indicated that she is being positioned as Kim's likely heir, marking a possible first female leadership in North Korea since its founding in 1948. Despite limited official information, the girl has appeared publicly with Kim Jong Un since 2022 and has been featured in state media to emphasize her military capabilities. The NIS also reported that Kim's sister, Kim Yo Jong, lacks independent power to oppose this succession plan. If confirmed, her rise would continue the Kim family's dynastic rule into a fourth generation.
