Abstract

The author comments on a retrospective cohort study that examined the association between moving homeless veterans into supported housing and changes in all-cause mortality, overdose mortality and suicide mortality. He discusses the results indicating a heightened overdose mortality risk among the homeless moved into supported housing. He also suggests interventions for reducing the risk of fatal overdose in supportive housing environments.
