Abstract
Hong Kong has published a 212-page bill outlining its proposed new security law, which includes severe punishments for various crimes. Treason and insurrection can result in life imprisonment, while possession and acquisition of state secrets can lead to up to 7 years in prison. The unlawful disclosure of state secrets carries a punishment of up to 10 years in prison. Sedition can result in up to 10 years imprisonment, and aiding external intelligence organizations can lead to 14 years in jail.
