Abstract

This article focuses on research conducted at the Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee examining psychological factors influencing the adoption of public bicycle-sharing services (PBSS) in India, where such services are emerging. Using an extended technology acceptance model and a hybrid Structural Equation Modeling–Artificial Neural Network (SEM-ANN) approach, the study identifies perceived usefulness, perceived fun, subjective norm, and functional value as key predictors of behavioral intention to use PBSS, while transactional assurance and perceived risk showed no significant direct impact. The findings aim to inform policymakers and decision-makers on promoting PBSS adoption during its early introduction stage in India. [Extracted from the article]
